The YMCA is a worldwide organisation, however it principally exists for its local community and its direction comes from that community. The Eastern Goldfields YMCA’s Board members and staff serve primarily to provide programs to the community of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

The Eastern Goldfields YMCA has operated successfully as a provider of children and youth services, community based programs, fitness and leisure for more than 100 years in the Goldfields and more than 40 years since joining the National Council of YMCAs in Western Australia.
